Awesome L.A. Pictage User Group (PUG) meeting..

I am so bummed that I don’t get the opportunity to attend Pictage’s LA PUG Meeting whenever there is one. Alas! I just had to attend last night’s and I am so glad I did! First of all, I would like to thank my beautiful wife, Rachelle for “allowing” me to attend. It is actually quite a challenge to watch for Jordan all by oneself. I was actually torn between attending either the LA PUG or the one held in Santa Barbara . I am also bummed that its on the same evening. I could have gone with either, but I wanted to see some of LA’s finest photographers. Also, having Dane Sanders as your guest speaker helps! I want to thank the host of our PUG meeting, Anne Kelly for allowing us inside her beautiful home in Beverly Hills . Of course, this would have probably not happened without the efforts of our PUG Leader, Jules Bianchi.

Some of the key things I LOVE about attending a PUG:

  • Meet photographers within the Los Angeles area. My opinion this is one of the best things about attending a PUG is because there is nothing like getting to know your peers, to connect with them, learn from them, be inspired by them, and to network with them.
  • Discussed current and upcoming products and services from Pictage.
  • Studio Spotlight.  At every PUG meeting, a photographer introduces themselves briefly, how long have they have been in the business, their specialty, their style, and what products and services they offer.
  • Feature Speaker. Last night’s feature speaker, Dane Sanders discussed how we can stand out from other photographers in our market. How each of us can apply our very own unique traits to brand our business.
  • Dane Sanders is the author of the new book called Fast Track Photographer. If you are a wedding photographer, regardless if you are new to the business or you have been shooting for a long time, I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I had to leave just before Dane finished his presentation, but I had so many take aways that I know I can put into my business right away. I had so much fun and met so many talented photographers!

Onto the next PUG Meeting….
